Language-professional workshops at the Translation Bureau: a new discovery!

Have you always wondered if it was possible to participate in language-professional workshops through the Canadian government? Wonder no more! I discovered, by way of André Racicot, French writer and translator, that the Public Works and Government Services Canada’s Translation Bureau provides French- and English-speaking language professionals the opportunity to hone their language skills through one-day workshops.

The workshops are either held in Gatineau or Montreal, though the majority of them appear to take place in Canada’s capital region. Travelling between the two cities isn’t a big deal, since it takes only two and a half—maximum three hours— to arrive at your desired destination.

If you’re interested in participating in one or several workshops, click here. This page provides you with the workshops offered in English. For workshops in French, click on the “Français” link, located at the top-right corner of the website.  Sinon, vous pouvez avoir accès directement aux ateliers de langue française si vous cliquez ici.

As you will soon see, the Translation Bureau offers more workshops in French than in English. At any rate, there’s something for everyone!
